6.29.09

3 days...

day 38

...driving to Albuquerque, New Mexico. we stopped at "The Blue Hole". natural, clean, blue spring water hole.

...Jack from the diving area.

...Jack jumping into freezing cold water.

...Wes from up top.

...after the Albuquerque show, we headed over to the Taylair House for the after party. notice the dude on the far left...that is Don (aka "THEE Don")...clearly, he was having a LOT more fun than anyone else there that night. apparently, he wrote the Full House theme song, hung out with Michael Jackson, and was "on camera" a bunch...but whatever you want to believe, i can guarantee you that he knows how to do the robot like a fucking pro.

...homies. AJ is one of the sweetest dudes in the world. i forget the kid's name with the beer-crown on, but he fucking RULES. (clearly).

...beer.

...five-oh-five crew.

day 39

...bought these somewhere in Arizona. bringing back fun times to the Bay Area.

...Hieke and Chris in Tucson, AZ. awesome kids and good to have them along the road with us :)

...went to Jaoquin's (amazing, amazing dude) house after the show in Tucson. Ryan taught me and Steven how to count cards. siq. not sure if i wanna risk getting my legs broken, but damn, that would be cool (the money thing, not the broken leg thing).

day 40

...we got into Phoenix, AZ early. so we all snuck into the movie theater to (finally) watch The Hangover (amazingly funny movie btw). best part...right before the movie started, there was a technical difficulty with the movie reel, so they had to stop the previews for like 5 mins...and to make up for our "wait", they gave everyone in that movie free popcorn. hah. free movie. free popcorn. thanks Phoenix.

...at Green in Tempe. dont be fooled by Steven and Hieke's body language, this restaurant rules. hah.

day 34

...Mr Chris Crass chillin at the Smith Seven House in Memphis, Tennessee.

...the Smith Seven House.

...Jack got a new little toy today. the future. life without this thing sucked.

day 35

...found this in a distro at our show in Oklahoma City. i was pretty stoked. especially because depending on who you ask, this 7inch might not even really exist.

...outside the Oklahoma City show. it was REALLY REALLY hot.

...homegirl (and used-to-be-Bay-Area-native) Jessica took us to this apartment complex pool that one of her friends used to live at or something for a midnight swim. it was very nice and damn needed that night.

...thanks strangers at the apartment complex.

day 36

...driving to Houston, Texas.

...about a week before it was suppose to happen, our show in Houston was moved from some warehouse space to a bar in town (cause of cops shutting the warehouse down). anyways, we were told the show would still be all ages...when we arrived, we were told it was 21+...bummer...after checking out our options, a bunch of text messages, phone calls, and searching various parkinglots in the area for an outlet and place to move our set, we found an AWESOME dude at the show that said we could just play in his living room until the cops show up. (hell yes). so within an hour, us and about 30 kids bailed the bar and headed a few blocks down the road to Alex's house.

...definitely was one of the most rad shows we've ever played. we got to play our planned set. cops came. no one got in trouble. success. (ps...kids in Houston RULE).

...ran out of patches. but, we brought a screen and ink with us. made some shirts instead.

...after all that awesomeness, we headed over to homie Casey's house (with pool, obviously). him and his gf Lauren are the best people ever.

...definitely chilled in this pool till the early AM.

day 37

...show in Fort Worth, Texas was at 1919 Hemphill. (a super rad diy art space ran by good people).

...after the show, Leo (awesome kid who put on the show) called up his buddy Lisa (who coincidently also ruled), and she was able to hook us up with a free and very nice hotel suite in the area. damn. thanks again.

...played in Goose Creek, South Carolina tonight. (aka: Dan xAfricax's stomping grounds). after our show, we went over to hommie Bradley's house and made the largest pot of pasta eeeeever. amazing. (love food photos).

...after dinner, we watched The Dark Knight (now twice on this tour)...but this time it was on a projector, large wall-screen, and blue ray...in other words, Bradley is doing things biiiiiiiig.

day 33

...played in Birmingham, Alabama today. the show was awesome...because of the area's recent lost of Cave 9 (was a rad-as-hell diy space), it was put on in a storage space. good shit dudes.

...this cute guy is named Ben. he's preparing himself for dinner.

...had a good midnight dip in an awesome pool in some MUCH-needed-swimming weather.

...my #1 tour jam: ramen noodles, uncle ben's vegetable mix instant rice, garbanzo beans, whatever random tasty spices i can find in cupboards, hot sauce, a few garlic cloves, and of course the OJ. bam.
