Day 25,

...we are now in Trainwreck's new van (which coincidentally is Boss' old van that we drove in last year) with Felix-wreck and his awesome gf, Maria, driving us for the remainder of this tour.

so we woke up in Mannheim today and had some awesome breakfast that Ralph and Jenny prepared for us (tofu scramble again....mmmm-fuckin-mmmmm). so the plan today was that we were suppose to get another batch of shirts printing by Boss' friend (the same guy who saved our asses earlier on this tour) cause we were running very low on shirts. so yeah, we had sent the dude (only known as "Hacke the drunk punk") the files for the shirt design like almost a week ago...and since we were playing Berlin today, we had arranged to pick them up before the show and save on shipping costs. BUT, of course, in full drunk-punk-style, we get a text message this morning saying that we need to send the files again to Hacke. hah. apparently homeboy was spending too much time getting familiar with the bottom of beer bottles that he totally forgot to start printing our shirts till today. hah. but damn, can't blame the dude, beer is pretty siq.

so anyways, after re-sending shit to dude, and hoping that within the next 4-5 hours (is what the drive took us) he would have our order of shirts done, we headed to Berlin.

the drive was calm. nothing crazy. Chris Crass was currently with us in the van as well. here's a picture of him sleeping in the van that he doesn't know about...

...till now. hah. love that guy.

so we got to Berlin a few hours later and fuckin, shit, hell, this city RULEZ. like no joke. a very "SF-vibe" to it. as we were driving around, looking for the venue, we passed a lot of things that reminded me of the beautiful city. tons of kids on bikes, people all outside and having a good time, smiling, very colorful, cool-looking shops, parks full of people maxin and relaxin and probably getting busted as hell cause the motha fuckin sun was shinning hard today. it was awesome.

we got to the squat after a while and the place was ridiculous (my favorite word apparently). it was like this total community apartment buildings-type thing with a crazy center area where everyone chilled it and a freakin bar/club/show space in one of the buildings. it looked like this...

the kids there (who were rad as shit and super nice [and way into giving me a lot of free beer]) told us to go into the top floor of one of the buildings cause that's where dinner was at. so we did that and found this...

...super good sandwiches. bunch of veggies, tofu, rice, salads, shroomies, and that same BOMB sauce thing from yesterday's show. hell yeah! and also, we ran into all the guys from Zann at dinner and Gautier from Memorial (they were both playing this show too). good kids. it was awesome to finally see Robert from Zann. gave that dude a massive hug. he is the head-cheif who booked this whole Euro tour for us. man hooked it up phat.

so after dinner, shit got CRAZY awesome. as we were loading in our gear, and after a few double-takes and "naaaww, no way?!?"s...i fuckin ran into none other than the "big V."!!!!!!! (aka, the dude who taught my English class my sophomore year of high school)!!!! no joke, it was RIDICULOUS (there it is again). like this dude was for sure on like my top-3-fave-teachers in high school list, super rad guy, WAY into punk rock, and just one solid ass dude. as his side-job, he writes the stories for video games (i believe he did one of the Tomb Raiders), and his job sent him to Berlin for like a month to meet some of the dudes who were also working on the same game he is writing. so yeah, he happened to know we were on tour here, did a google search, found the info for the show and came out to surprise me and Juan. hell yeah!...

oh ps, we got the shirts before the show started! everything was ok. apparently drunk punx (although swarmed with sketchy friends and own probably too many dogs) are reliable people.

but anyways, the show went super SUPER well.

...the place we played was like underneath the bar and was kinda small, but WELL packed with a ton of people, so that totally ruled. people were way into it and singing along and all that jazz. OH! also, before i forget, our friend Hilke was at this show and was hanging hard with us the whole time too! super awesome, she just moved to Berlin not to long ago and loves it. but anyways, there were a few kids from all parts of Europe (and the US) there too. a friend that Jack and Steven knew from SF, a girl i met from Seattle, but the BEST were these 3 girls from Spain who were there...just in the front the whole time, beerin' it, ragging hard, dancing, and constantly yelling shit in Spanish to us (which was the coolest and funniest shit ever...and no worries, we responded to the Spanish banter as well). it ruled. they ruled. me and Juan spent the rest of the time after the show hanging out with them and dranking much awesome beer-ige.

...oh yeah, you notice something? Juan "kiiiiinda" got a little war-wound from the show tonight. he got hit by Jack's guitar headstock, pretty punk, there was some blood, i think people were into it though. he's totally ok though. (really Mom, he is FINE. don't worry. just a little swollen and a small cut. but he is fine, nothing broken, he can breath ok, and see ok, no big deal. punk rock. love you. miss you. be home soon).

so after all of that, we said our "goodbyes" and "farewells" and "safe travels", and headed over to Robert's place where we were sleeping. goodnight. goodfight.

"siq shit", Berlin is the coolest city ever:
1. Berlin.
2. "the big V".
3. the free Polish beer that we got here that i can safely say is my fave beer i've had all tour. i think it was called "Tyskie" or something like that.
4. the mass amounts of "mas rapido"s that were being yelled at us while playing.
5. Juan's first black eye that he was really excited about having cause he's never had one and shit looks tough as hell. (although now that i look at it today, i dont think it is turning into a black eye, but i'm not gonna tell him and maybe bum him out)...
