Day 5,
...this is the image of the 100 or so shirts that we are not gonna have for this tour. hah. siq huh? fuck you customs. (hopefully they will sell good in the US to people who can't read)
anyways, today was our first day out of Germany...off to the Netherlands! the drive today was also pretty rad. it's crazy, so far our drives have all been like 2-3 hours...which RULES. back in the states shit averages around 6-8 hours each day on summer tours. blaaaah. but yeah, the drive was cool, we listened to some Wu-Tang...that's all that i can remember (and probably all that matters). Wes, Steven, and Tobi were all in a super "work-out" mood today for some reason...
...that's Wes. he is using his backpack as weights or some shit. i believe it was more funny than an actual work out.
oh also, not sure if i mentioned this on previous posts, but our German friend Tobi has been joining us on this tour for the past few days. he is with us till Friday. he is mad awesome. siq dude 4 sho.
so anyways, our show was in Utrecht, Netherlands at this student-housing building/dorm which was sweeeet. we showed up and were greeted by (Tiny) Martin, a super cool dude that saw us last year when we played in Netherlands. the show was gonna be in their downstairs common room/living room space. house shows normally do not happen here in Europe, so it was a cool "change-of-pace" or whatever the fuck people say.
here is a picture of us being stoked that we were in the Netherlands...
...yeah, i know. if i were you, i'd wish i were us too. (sooowwwwie!) i believe a few minutes after this picture was taken, i got on my computer and talked to 2 friends back home that were both at work. hah. while you were "enjoying" your 9am amazingly "fun" day at work, i was drinking cold Heineys in Holland. no big deal.
a few beerz later, i had dinner...
...i think after yesterday's post, i got hooked on taking pictures of food. (this is when my "indie-rock-super-artsy-i-love-35mm-film-i-think-Juno-is-the-best-movie-ever" side comes out). hah.
so anyways, the show started and it went well. i think it was loud as fuck in that small room that we played in. it was packed pretty tight (as seen in the picture below)...
...but people were into it. some kids we met traveled out quite a few hours on train and shit to come to the show. that ruled. thanks guys. and after us, this band called Vuur played that totally ruuuuuuled. very much Burial Year-esq. very nice guys too. i think we are playing with them again in Paris. stoked.
after the show, for some reason, i was super tired. some kids continued to party in the room we played in. some of us hung out in the hallway and just chatted it up with the kids who came to the show. some of us were chillin it outside and probably making the local college kids outside uncomfortable. either way, i believe a lot of beers were consumed in (and around) that house. but yeah, i had to call it early cause i was tired (huh?...me...sleep...???...no way).
oh yeah, hahahah...earlier this day, Jack had asked me to use my laptop cause Chelsea back home was all like "yo dude, how you doing? how is tour going and shit?" and Jack was all like "yo grl, u no-z i luvz ya, but itz hella hard 2 git up on'a com-pute here n' shit"...then she saw all the blog entries i have done and all the talking to Amanda i've done on ichat. hah. WHOOPS :) yo girl, trust me, he misses on you. i am just a SUPER nerd and can't live without this "internet" thing (yeah Rachel, i admitted it. nerd).
i'm out.
siq shit:
1. the house's "events board" saying that our show started at "2030" and Steven saying that we were "22 years too early". (if you were fuckin there, you would have laughed too, so shut up).
2. that same "events board" saying that Martin's name was "Tiny Martin" and us calling him "Tiny Martin" for the rest of the night.
3. finding out that Hot Water Music are playing in SF at the end of August with Strike Anywhere and Dead to Me. (pretty much my favorite show of all time).
4. my mom creating a blogger account so that she can comment on my blog entries and the amount of "fuck"s and "fuck you"s that my mom probably isn't to stoked about.
5. this picture...
