Day 9,

here's some pictures from some shows that i was sent...

at Vera in Groningen, Netherlands:

...check out how totally-bummed-un-stoked that lady is. weird enough, i remember after our set, she came up to us and was all like "you guys were great!", and i was like "thanks!", and then she was like "heh, you look pretty tired", and then i was like "hell naw! i'm gonna be at that disco in like 10 mins!", and then she was like "awesome! i am going there too!", and then i was like "cool! i will see you there!"............i never got that dance.

hah. check out this flickr account for pics from the Gent, Belgium show at the Frontline:

anyways, flash-foward to today, not a lot happened. (also, i didnt take many pictures at all other than the band ones below). but yeah, i woke up at Vera just like 4 hours after i went to bed...i was pretty tired. we had breakfast, then said our goodbyes to the people at Vera and to the Aussitot Mort guys and hopped in our van with Valley and Tomas. we were driving to Paris, France today and it just so happened that we were gonna get close to Gent, Belgium on the way, so we were gonna drop off Val and Tomas on the way.

i slept most of the van ride today. at some point it started to rain kinda a lot. pretty shitty. after a few hours, we stopped at a rando gas station where Valley and Tomas said they would get off. they were gonna hitch-it back to Gent (which was apparently really close, they said they would be fine and be home in no time. i think they got home alright cause later on that night when i checked our myspace and we had a "friend request" from Tomas saying thanks). but yeah, we said our goodbyes to those kids and headed off in the other direction. gonna miss those kids for sure. both of them were way siq d00dz.

the rest of the ride to Paris we listened to the audio for "the Big Lebowski". Jack had ripped the audio of that movie on his ipod a while back ago and we never get sick of hearing it in the van.

we got to the venue in Paris a little late cause of traffic and shitty weather conditions. we were bummed cause we already missed Vuur...but no worries, we were in time to catch Suis La Lune (this fuckin AMAZING band from Sweden. like way-the-fuck good. like on the up-and-coming "hype skram" scene 4 sho. one of my co-workers introduced me to them a few months ago and i was way into them...then when i found out that we would be playing with them on this tour, i was stoked like a LOT. and sorry Andy, they didn't have any shirts).

but anyways, when we got out of the van, we were greeted by a lot of the same friendly faces we met last year when we played Paris. it was awesome. last year, we played with this band called Warsaw Was Raw. they RULED...like probably our favorite band that we played with last year. it was like one of their first shows or some shit, and they killed it. way siq. 2 girl lead-singers, very dancy/old Blood Brothers-esq (although most people wouldn't think so, it IS a compliment, i fuckin love old Blood Brothers). but annnnnyways, the kids from Warsaw were at the show and actually helped put the show on! so yeah, it was awesome to see them.

here's a flyer for the show/fest that we played...

so yeah, we ate some food, drank some drankz, and watched Suis La Lune. here are some pics from their set...

...they were REALLY good. (and also really nice). we also found out that our buddy Charley from Mexico City is helping to put our their new 10inch that will be out by late-summer. peep on Escucha Records for that info.

after Suis, this band from the UK played. they were pretty sweet. it was like grind-dancy-synthy type stuff. apparently they just played some festival in the UK that Kiss headlined. when they told me about it, i was like "whoa shit, that's crazy cool!"...but now as i write this, that's reaaaaaaaally not all that cool at all. who the fuck cares about old ass Kiss??? hah, now if Paramore was playing that shit...that's a different situation.

but anyways, what was really cool about those kids was that their driver (also from the UK) knew our buddy Mitch!!! fuckin Mitchell from like L.A. and Connecticut and like 72839473289 other places that we've seen that kid at. love that dude. he got kicked out of the chain reaction once for constantly stage-diving during our set. hah. siq.

anyways, we played last and it went very well. we set up on the floor, a little far in front of the stage so that people could circle completely around us. it was fun.

after we played, we said our goodbyes to the Warsaw and Suis kids, hung out by our van outside in some real sketchy area of Paris, saw a few drug deals go down and called it a night.

we went to our friends' house in Versailles and watched "Scanners" before we all went to bed...the "Brian William's diet" in full effect.

"siq shit" top 5 shit:
1. Graf Orlock (the cat from Gent, Belgium) myspace friend-requesting us. (check his cuteness out here: www.myspace.com/296313641)
2. the sound guy at the venue. he was just way fuckin cool and stoked.
3. the amount of orange juice that i drank. (i love orange juice. and when it's free and there's a lot of it, it tastes SO much better).
4. finally getting the Warsaw Was Raw cd.
5. our buddy Vinny from Santa Cruz being at this show.
